Appearance
A dark brown with gold tones around the edges, a non-cloudy dark reddish
brown when held to a light. Head is a medium tan, very short height, even shorter
duration, with light lacing.
Lighter than many dark roast beers. This brew is a
dark red when held to a light. Low carbonation, poor lacing, short lasting caramel
colored head.

Aroma
Disappointed in the lack of strength. I am getting mild roasted malt, a tangy citrus
in the form of lime and kiwi, but all are very hard to detect.
Light and a little fruity,
cherry, chocolate, and caramel, all as mild notes amid an also mild roast
background.

Palate
A clean water essence with some crisp carbonation. Very light chocolate and
roasted malt flavors but way too thin !
A sweet minerally porter. The roast is there
in what is a relatively thin brew. Has some chocolate and tea leaf character.

Finish
Strength picks up, the flavor enhancement over the palate is huge, yet overall this
porter is light to a fault. Some sweet lime citrus, roasted malt, light chocolate,
and some light coffee tones.
Some sweetness which separates from the malt.
An exceeding mild finish, the fresh water satisfies thirst, but doesn't lend to
character.

Synopsis
Some requisite porter flavors are there, rich roasted malts, chocolate, coffee,
some lime citrus, but all of these are too light and many don't appear at all until
the finish of this brew. There are too many great alternative porters out there
preventing us from scoring this well.
Not a bad taste for the Porter drinker, but
severely lacking in punch. Simply a very mild taste, I would have preferred more
ooomph !
