Our Ale List
Appearance
A medium gold, effervescent, and a bit cloudy. Off-white head was creamy but
short in height and duration, with only light lacing.
Medium cloudy and golden. Decent carbonation produces a short and true white
head. A little rockiness and lacing to a standard ale.
Aroma
Complex aroma, decent strength, fruity with grape, kiwi, Cherry, and orange along
with a very light malt.
Mild fruity aroma and hard water. Seemingly light and airy with the essence of
orange to the mild hop.
Palate
A lightly crisp carbonation and multiple citrus tones that present as a blend along
with a lightly sweet pale malt.
A thin thirst quencher that has a little spicy hop. Closer inspection detects a
cereal quality to the malt. A good light flavor but little thin.
Finish
A muted hop zing kicks in and then allows the citrus blend to make itself known
one more time. The citrus blend then trails off with a faint hop and less faint salty
tone.
A bubbly and tangy finish that is pleasant, but not mind blowing. The brew
finishes clean with a bit of salt, maybe somewhat wanting.
Synopsis
Not a bad beer, but with blunt honesty, not spectacular either. Constructive
criticisms are that this is overall light for the ale category with too much flavor
blending. The blending makes this a dual note citrus and hop even though
multiple flavors were there. The extra flavors ran together and blended away. This
beer is reminiscent of the lighter craft beer startups from the 1980s.
A standard yet crisp American ale. I would've appreciated more signature flavors.
As a whole a decent brew from a decent brewery. More dry than sweet, the
extraordinary designation is a bit overstated. This is especially true when
compared to the many competitive variants that are available.
