Appearance
Medium amber to bronze in color. Not at all cloudy, nice and clear. Head is full
and slightly off-white in color, rocky, and lasting. A beautiful lager, one could not
ask for anything more of this style. True brown amber with copper tones. Good
head with character. No cloudiness or sediment present. Very inviting.
Aroma
Pleasing, but light in strength. Grainy with a very faint lemon citrus and even more
faint spice. Crisp light aroma. Small malt sweetness, light caramel tones. One
often looks for definitive aromas but I almost enjoy the absence of unnecessary
additions, particularly for lagers.
Palate
Clean, lightly malty, lightly carbonated, maybe just a bit too light. Crisp and dry.
Light hoppy bite. Seems to have a light toasting of the malt. Subtle saltiness, and
even more subtle floral characteristics. This beer will not blow your doors off but
enjoyable nonetheless.
Finish
Very nice, more grainy maltiness comes out, and a touch of the sweet and lemon
citrus is noticed. Finished off with a mild hop spice kick. Dry and soothing. Good
blend of hops. I think its terrific, a versatile beer. Pleasant and refreshing to the
stomach.
Synopsis
Enjoyable and refreshing, I would recommend to any lager drinker. Full flavored,
crisp, and pleasant for the style with a pleasing lack of "over carbonation" so often
suffered with other lagers. Not #1 on the list for flavorful lagers, but definitely in the
top few. I have had this one multiple times and can attest to the consistency from
batch to batch. It is difficult to find adjectives to describe this beer. It is so clean,
crisp, just a great drinking relatively lighter beer. Not over or underdone. Good
summertime beer. As typical with lagers, serve ice cold.
