Appearance
Very pale golden color, commensurate with style. Cloudiness hurts the score in
this category. Nice white head, decent character and longevity. Golden color,
reasonable white head. A little cloudiness expected in Kolsch style but this one
has it in spades. Pretty middle of the road appearance.
Aroma
Decent strength, sweet & fruity, a hint of orange. Pronounced aroma, some nice
bitters detected with a bit of a champagne quality. Definitive but all ingredients are
muted to some degree, good balance.
Palate
Smooth and delicious. Mild carbonation, mild sweetness, a hint of orange as the
aroma suggests. Hop noticed initially but very slight. A tasty and soft beer. It
almost drinks as a lager. Refreshing and versatile, maybe comparable to a steam
beer. Good balance and blend of flavor where no one particular characteristic is
discernible.
Finish
Picks up some strength with malty and fruity flavor tones. More grains and more
sweetness comes through. Clean and silky. There is a good mouth feel to this
beer. Satisfying.

A very smooth and light drinkable beer. Was surprised at the lack of a more
significant hop presence, but very enjoyable. Yeast carries the beer. Stylistically
pleasant, drinkable, and balanced. Something for the summer and spring.
