Within moments of harvest, we add fresh-picked American hops to this India
Pale Ale. These "wet hops" play nicely against a crisp, complex malt character.
This hop lover's dream lives up to its name in a thoroughly enjoyable manner.

Appearance
An orangish brown copper with an evenly dispersed cloudiness. Head is tall,
off-white to beige, impressively thick and dense with a slightly rough surface
texture. An amazing amount of lacing cakes on the glass.
Shiny orange with a
beautiful pillowy white head. An inviting IPA that appears sturdy with a good bit of
dark ale character.

Aroma
Nice and full aroma, strong requisite IPA hops but not overbearing. Well
balanced with a lightly sweet malt, orange, lime, and kiwi scents. Inviting and
suggestive of a nicely blended composition.
A nicely blended hop nose which
pushes the hops to the hilt but without becoming cartoonish. Orange peel,
tangerine, and a slightly cutting acidic hop, well done.

Palate
Smooth and clean for the style, yet plenty bold and complex. A mildly creamy
texture and a good blend as aroma suggests. The citrus, hop, and malt
compliment each other well without cancelling anything out of the taste.
This IPA
hits on all notes that it should. Smooth and sharp co-exist and provide a nice
contrast to the basic formula of water, hop, malt, and yeast. A brass tax IPA that is
expertly balanced.

Finish
The hops burst out with a spectacular fullness and boldness but stop short of
having an overly sharp edge. All of the palate flavors carry through in the
background for a deliciously complex and complimentary blend of flavor.
Has a
good pop ! The bitter units are substantial but fitting of the IPA concept and all
other flavors remain. Truly an entertaining ale.

Synopsis
Top notch, one of my favorite IPA's. Simply a neat complex blend without having
any overly sharp edges while still bold and full. The "wet hopping" is interesting
and must provide the smoothness in a hoppy beer that is still very strong. I would
guess Chinook, Crystal, and Saaz hops are used. Easy drinking enough for
those not wanting to be "bitten" by their IPA, yet strong enough that even "hop
heads" would not be disappointed.
Great IPA ! I am intrigued by the emphasis on
proportion of ingredients. Hop is paramount for the IPA style and this fits the plan
in a blend that I admire.
