Wheat Ale List
With a nice malty sweetness and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla, and banana, this
German-style hefe weizen is unfiltered for a glowing orange haze.

Appearance
A deep dark orangeish yellow, effervescent, mild even cloudiness, advertised as
unfiltered. Head is white, medium ht. No rockiness, rather a thick dense creamy
character. Head doesn't last long but is relevant to wheat beers.
Shiny golden
color with some cloudy sediment. Well carbonated with light lacing and a short
white head.

Aroma
The label doesn't lie, moderately strong wheat, grain, clove, vanilla, and banana
scents are all there.
A big floral sour wheat blast. An awakening amount of
character for a wheat beer with some Autumn spice to add a touch of darkness.

Palate
Light graininess, light wheat, and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Good balance of
sweet, sour, and wheat. A silky vanilla in the background, a spiciness in the
foreground, there is quite a bit going on in this flavor profile.

Finish
Wheat strength picks way up but it is not overbearing, it leaves room for some
graininess, some sweet banana tones, and a bit of spice.
Plenty of sweet and
sour tang and the absence of a strong hop presence puts emphasis on the
wheat malt flavor in a medium crisp presentation.

Synopsis
A nice example of a hefeweizen. Enjoyable and well balanced  wheat, banana,
vanilla, and spice flavors in an overall lighter presentation. A constructive
criticism would be to have a bit more punch in the great flavors that are there.
A
good American hefe-weizen with some surprises in the addition of vanilla and
spice blending well into a familiar style.
