Recipe List
Yet another, versatile recipe from the minds at Beerblitz.  A Hobo Meal is basically a fire cooked stew.  The nice thing
about the recipe is that it doesn’t require anything but ingredients, aluminum foil and a campfire.  There are hundreds
of recipes for “hobos”… this ours, and it’s real good!  P.S. Don’t set yourself on fire.  I’ll break this down into three
parts… meat, vegetable and wet.

MEAT
2        lb. Ground Chuck (you’ll need the fat content)
1      cup diced Summer Sausage or Pepperoni
1        cup of raisins
¼     tsp. basil
¼     tsp. caraway seed
¼     tsp. pepper
1      tsp. salt
¼     tsp. ginger
½     tsp. cinnamon
½     tsp. garlic
½     tsp. onion powder
½     tsp. paprika

VEGETABLE
1      Yellow Onion
1      Small Red Bell Pepper
1      Large Russet Potato
2         Cups Celery
2      Cups Carrot
1       Red Delicious Apple
4      Cups Cabbage*
* Dry and lightly salt cabbage during preparation.  Salt will pull moisture out of the cabbage, you want this, so you can
replace it with beer.  (Do a couple hours in advance)

WET
2      cup Dopplebock beer
6      Eggs
½     cup Red Wine Vinegar
¼     cup  Brown Sugar

Inside the foil package… make a mound with the meat and press a crater in the center to form a bowl. Place cabbage
on the foil and the meat over the cabbage.  Distribute the rest of the vegetables evenly and pour your wet mixture over
the top. Wrap the package well in the aluminum foil and place directly on the coals. Turn every 15-20 minutes, usually
the aroma will let you know when its done. Cooking time depends on your fire.

Serve with some sour pickles and of course more dopplebock beer
