The Bock style is a moderately bodied beer style that
originated in Germany. It is bottom fermented and relatively
smooth drinking. The style falls well on the sweet side of the
"sweet/hoppy scale". It is rich, malty, and toasty, with higher
alcohol content than a lager style and usually has a medium
dark color. A "Dopplebock" is a double bock and thus is
richer and stronger with a higher alcohol content. Most
brands have goats on the label because "Bock" means
"Goat" in German. Note many dopplebock brand names end
in "ator".
