Appearance
A nice golden lager color, a hint of cloudiness but amazingly clean for a wheat
style beer. Impressive snow white, rocky, and lasting head. Golden and bright,
some cloudiness but minimal. Good rocky head with character, solid.
Aroma
Nice and strong. The wheat and strong pleasant lemon citrus (along with a little
orange) comes through well. Fresh and clean. Wheat overtones but not overly
heavy. Mild fruit aromas such as lemon are muted in that you don't get the zest
but the juice. I like this because when I think of a wheat beer I consider it a
pilsner using a different type of malt.
Palate
Impressively strong full wheat and grainy flavor. Very smooth, probably a perfect
amount of carbonation for the style. Creamy, very much so, a surprise. Drinks like
a very, very, very, good lager with the wheat muted somewhat.
Finish
The grainy wheat flavor explodes as do the lemon and orange sweet flavors.
Enjoyable, no complaints, none at all. Very clean, slightly crisp. The water in this
beer seems to be of the highest quality with no impurities. Gives a good mouth
feel and does not separate on the tongue.
Synopsis
Absolutely wonderful wheat lager. I gave this one a perfect score, while my score
was muted just a bit by the others at Beer Blitz, everyone still enjoyed this one.
Good and full flavored for the style, nothing harsh, and thirst quenching. I would
highly recommend this one to any wheat beer lover or lager drinkers. I really like
this beer, generally great, but I had to be critical to some degree for the muted
wheat characteristics. For those who love wheat, you will appreciate the beer but
maybe want for a bit more specific wheat character.
