Beer Blitz Rater Comments
Bell's Brewery, Inc., Comstock, MI
Fill your glass and toast your friends with this special brew. Our take on a "glass
of the bubbly, sparkling ale is an American Triple-light in color with a subtle fruit
body.

Appearance
Color is a light golden yellow. Color is characteristic of a Belgian ale in that it is
cloudy with yeast particles. Head is white, only mildly rocky, of decent duration.
Golden in color, like that of a lager. Very cloudy, a lot in solution. You would have to
assume this is bottle conditioned. Overall middle of the road in appearance.

Aroma
Decent strength but a bit light. Some fruity tones such as apple and cherry along
with both spicy and salty tones. Unique in that it reminds me of champagne
qualities with hints of Belgian ale seeping out.
Nice Trappist ale quality in malt is
the main feature. Spiciness and alcohol is noticeable. Has warmth and sour
texture reasonable for its style.

Palate
Ever so mild creaminess, but still a bit thin for an ale. Crisp and pleasant taste,
some of the fruity pear flavors are initially noticed.
Yum. Creamy and full bodied.
Warm and soft all the way down. Spicy notes really come out. Sweet and
expressive. Complex tones, coriander and pumpkin spices.

Finish
Flavor explodes, spicy coriander breaks out, some woody flavors and pleasant
saltiness as with most Belgian ales. This is lighter than the Belgian ales I have
had, but just barely.
A great mouth feel, creaminess mixed with carbonation gives
a unique quality. Hangs around well, very satisfying. Bitter and sweet, well made.

Synopsis
Crisp, pleasant, unique, and Belgian-like as advertised. Sure to make monks
jealous and really good for those who like the Belgian Ale taste but wanting to stay
in a tighter budget.
Years ago it was difficult to find American breweries that could
capture the spirit of the full bodied brewing styles of our foreign neighbors. This
does it. Its a Belgian with an American flair. What it lacks it makes up for in its own
way. I have always liked Bell's brewery and their take on international styles, this is
just another example, good beer.
