Appearance
Impressive darker amber tone for a lager. Nice off-white head of good duration. A
criticism is a fair level of cloudiness. Good light amber / golden color but
considerable cloudiness. Good carbonation and head, but the cloudiness hurts
what would be a great appearance.
Aroma
Very strong sweet and full aroma, particularly for a lager. Both citrus and malt
comes through well. Light barley malt smell. Crisp and clean, very enjoyable.
This is about as good as it gets for a lager.
Palate
Malty and sweet just as the aroma suggests. Some citrus tartness, overall a
delicious lager. No complaints. This is about my favorite lager. Consistent and
smooth as a lager should be but with character and light sweetness from the rich
barley malts. Good balance of hop, and expertly crafted lager.
Finish
Pleasant, basically a continuance of the palate with some added but mild grainy
taste and alcohol strength. Robust, sweet, and satisfying. Nothing more needs to
be said.
Synopsis
A very impressive lager. Full flavored enough that it could probably pass for a
bock style. I imagine any dedicated lager drinker would love this one. Lager is not
my personal favorite style, but when I am in the mood for one, I buy this one often.
Don't let the cloudiness fool you. This is a beer from Beersville. Good for drinking
any time of the year if you want a lager. Very versatile with foods or more than fine
all by itself.
